Massage Therapy

Welcome to Sincere Comforts
Breaths of Serenity

"May I have your tension, please?"

A mysterious endeavor, understanding how breath is the simutaneous bridge between structure and energy.
As much as possible, centering is the act of balancing in the body, mind, heart, and spirit.
Intention

Effleurage (smooth, gliding strokes), petrissage (squeezing, rolling or kneading), friction, compression. Your professional massage session could be compared to blank canvas on which an artist paints. Think of Swedish massage, our origin technique, as primary color. Learning never stops because there are many different shades of color in the artist's palette.

Initiating approach with humility and sincere personal respect. Attention, care, and skill amplify health. In a therapeutic setting, healing touch is not casual. It is full of meaning and intention. A brief period of stillness may accompany my initial contact with your head, feet, back. An opportunity to become acclimated to my touch and relax without distracting conversation.

Client Focused and Experience Led

Structure has boundary, I listen and feel for precise boundaries.

Purpose or intent of the technique determines depth and direction of pressure applied. Varies from light, medium, firm. Your preference, tolerance, dense or delicate musculature, general overall health are determining factors considered with speed, rhythm, continuity, frequency, duration, and sequence.

My attitude. I will choose the best technique and apply it with purpose to serve you. All qualities of a massage sesssion rest on intention. I cannot allow my own desire to help you interfere with my ability to listen and observe subtle messages.
Disengaging Handshake

Giver-Receiver Handshake Experiment. With and without structural and energenic clarity, experience a handshake switching roles as giver-receiver. Allow attention to be elsewhere, distracted. Notice how this feels for 3-5 seconds. Then, note the sensations after the courtesy of being truly interested in the meeting and getting to know each other.

Trusting your inner wisdom is the ultimate gesture of my creative process of well-paced silence and open space. Clearly disengaging reminds us why we consider the seventh day of creation as a holy day of rest.

A fulcrum is built, allowing you moments of a renewed sense of structural harmony. The healing process is a healthier relationship with your own body, mind, heart, and spirit.
